I offer a warm welcome to safe, non-judgemental therapy sessions where your well-being comes first.  I work with cognitive hypnotherapy, a modern evidence-based approach to therapy based on the latest findings in neuroscience. 

Change is possible, in fact change is inevitable and how we adapt to it is crucial. You might be surprised how positive change can happen so much easier than you might think.

The premise of Cognitive Hypnotherapy is that all behaviour has a positive intention, therefore people are doing the best they can with what they have available in that moment. And what they have within that moment is all life experience to date, positive or negative and all the learning from such experiences. They also have everything they need to solve their issues – therapy will help you develop an internal locus of control (ILOC) where you become in charge of how you respond and adapt to change in your life. Problems are created in the mind therefore you undoubtably have the ability to find solutions. 

Cognitive hypnotherapy is a very modern approach to therapy based on the latest findings in neuroscience. It is a means of bringing together the best of many therapeutic interventions like neuro linguistic programming (NLP), eye movement integration (EMI), Positive psychology, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Hypnotherapy and Emotional freedom technique (EFT). The benefits being you are likely to achieve your goals relatively quickly unlike many more traditional therapies. 

Every session will be personal to you - Every client is unique, bringing their own personality, life experiences and issue they want to address. Therefore all the work we do is individually tailored to you. 

I work in your model of the world, how you see things and what you bring to the session. There is no ‘one size fits all’ you will not be told what to do, how to behave or what you should or shouldn't be doing.  I will align my skills with your beliefs. There are no particular models, labels or rigid protocol. We work together in a flexible way that values your unique way of thinking and being in the world, my part is to hold space for you to enable you to work towards your best possible solution. 

Some myths unravelled - Trance is not a special state. We are all in and out of trances all day – daydreaming, driving a familiar route, being preoccupied with big plans for the future or even what to cook for dinner, dealing with a certain person, practice or behaviour and noticing the same old patterns happening.  If anything CH wakes you up, you'll notice less helpful problem patterns or behaviours and how quickly they can change and life can be very different. 

Nobody can make you do what you don't want to. Your mind's job first and foremost is to protect you, it won't allow something that isn't in your best interest happen. It really is that simple, yet ironically when we get overly anxious or stressed your mind is working hard to protect you from something. Exploring and understanding this is a light bulb moment for most people. 

Past experiences - We are the result of what has gone before, there isn't anyone who has some regret or disappointment about the past but we don't need to dwell on what has gone before. We only revisit past events if they play a significant role in shaping how your mind responds to situations today. When we do examine a past event, we won’t dwell on it repeatedly. If it has already influenced your present circumstances, continuously bringing it to the forefront isn’t helpful or necessary, once reframed you'll be free to respond in a more helpful and healthy way.

I want you to feel empowered to live a full and happy life, to thrive, not just while we are working but out in the real world. You will leave knowing that you have control over the outcome of events in your life, as opposed to external forces having a negative impact and feeling that they are beyond your control.
